For 10 – 14 Year Old Children
This three day experiential training will equip you to use the practical eight week Expressive Therapies groupwork program for students from 10 to 14 years old.

This is a creative arts, multiple intelligence approach to supporting children through groupwork, based on the theories and activities of Expressive Therapies. There is a particular focus on developing emotional literacy, knowing self, enhancing communication and group bonding. Innerspace supports children with emotional or behavioural challenges; affected by grief and loss; at risk of depression; with relational difficulties; with low self-esteem.

The program aims to support young people expand their self-understanding; improve interpersonal effectiveness; develop the skills of self-reflection, emotional support and empathic communication. This program presents new ways to foster resilience and mental wellbeing in students.

A range of proven personal development and therapeutic skills-building techniques are woven through the program, such as: therapeutic writing, emotional literacy tools, emotional and somatic mapping, responding to music, bioenergetics, relaxation skills, imagination and self-esteem activities, visualisation and self-discovery worksheets.

What’s Included?

Training to facilitate Expressive Therapies Australia’s Innerspace Program provides professionals with a license to use the program and make copies of program material (no ongoing fees or hidden costs). The program material includes: Facilitator Guide, Student Workbook, Parent Information Sheets, a Program Evaluation Form, and student Completion Certificate templates.

Innerspace facilitator training programs have been provided for a number of welfare agencies, hospitals and state education departments in Australia and Innerspace facilitator training can be provided as an in-service program if required.

This 3-day training is ideal for busy professionals (e.g. school counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers, teaching professionals – particularly life-skills teachers or those delivering social/emotional programmes in schools, clubs, religious or social work settings) who would like to deliver a well-researched, evidence-based bespoke program that is well-planned and ready to use.
