What Do I Do?
I’m a Counselling Psychotherapist using a trauma-informed and integrative Expressive Arts Therapy approach, rooted in evidence-based emotional-focused therapy.  This approach draws on psychodynamic principles blended with transpersonal, gestalt and person-centred methods.

What Are My Qualifications?
I hold a Masters Degree in Social Science (Counselling), a Diploma in Managing Learning Disorders and Child Psychology, a Graduate Dip. in Parent Coaching as well as being trained in EMDR therapy, Expressive Therapies and Sandplay & Symbol Work.

Who Do I Work With?
I work with children (age 10+), adolescents, teens and adults with a range of presenting issues: anxiety, self-harm, panic, disordered eating, low-mood, low-self esteem, lack of confidence, anger and frustration, grief and loss, issues relating to medical/health issues (I am a breast cancer survivor: 18 years post), neuro-divergence (ASD, ADHD), LGBTQ+ or social challenges.

What About On-going Professional Development?
As an integrative therapist I draw supportive strategies from a myriad of workshops and trainings attended over the last two decades: Non-Violent Communication.  Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (.b).  Strengths-based interventions. Appreciative Inquiry. Virtues Project Trainer. Dialectic Behavioural Therapy.  Inter-Personal Neuro-Biology (IPNB).  Sensory-Motor Art Therapy.  Psychosynthesis. Trauma-Informed Expressive Art Therapy.  Sandplay and Symbol Work.  Trauma-Informed top-down and bottom-up approaches.  ASIST-trained.  Family Constellations.  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

What’s My Background?
I was a co-founder of the Waldorf Steiner Education Association in Singapore in 2003 and ran playgroups and kindergarten until diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.  This seismic event inspired me to re-train as a therapist and seek ways to integrate the head-heart-hands approach into her therapeutic work. From 2009 to 2020, I worked as an International School Counsellor.  In July 2016 I established the Gentle Art of Expressive Therapy as a small private practice clinic and offer individual therapy sessions as well as supervision and training workshops as an approved-ETA trainer offering certificate courses in sandplay and symbol work and expressive therapies for those working in the mental-health and allied professions.

I am the proud mother of two sons: one young adult and one Singapore NS Man.  I’m Singapore-based but London-born. Prior to coming to Singapore in 2000, I lived and worked in London in various marketing roles in investment banks, financial markets conference organising, and wines and spirits.

Do I belong to any Professional Bodies?

Yes. I’m a Registered Member of Singapore Association of Counselling; and a Professional Member of International Expressive Arts Therapy Association – working towards REAT status.
