Sarah - Counselling Intern at The Gentle Art of Expressive Therapy

Counselling Intern

Sarah Teh

Sarah is a counsellor with approximately five years of experience working with children, young people and families across educational, arts and research settings.

Her practice is shaped by a belief that meaningful change begins with trust, empathy and the freedom to explore. She brings creativity, compassion and curiosity to her work, alongside a commitment to each child or young person’s individual strengths, experiences and voice.

How Sarah Works

Drawing primarily on Expressive Arts Therapies and Child-Centred Play Therapy, Sarah supports children and young people in expressing and making sense of their experiences in ways that feel accessible and natural to them.

Creative and play-based approaches can be particularly valuable when thoughts and feelings are difficult to communicate through words alone. Through the therapeutic process, Sarah supports clients in developing emotional awareness, recognising their strengths and building a stronger sense of agency.

Her approach is child-centred and responsive, allowing the therapeutic relationship and each individual’s needs to guide the work.
